About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Lance, you will work directly with our founding engineers on the core systems that power our autonomous AI agents. You will ship real features rather than small side projects and maintain ownership over the code you write. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our San Francisco office.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve the computer-use infrastructure that allows AI to navigate hotel software in real time.
- Develop voice and messaging pipelines to handle guest communication.
- Design backend systems and APIs to support complex task execution.
- Improve reliability, latency, and observability throughout our agent platform.
- Collaborate with founders to prototype and ship new product features.
What you'll need#
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
- Experience with Python or TypeScript.
- A track record of building and shipping real software, whether through internships, research, or personal projects.
- Comfort working in environments where tasks and goals can be ambiguous.
- Curiosity about AI agents, LLMs, and the requirements for running them reliably in production.
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
