About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Software Engineer Internship for Summer 2027. You will work in a hybrid capacity based in Mountain View, California. This role focuses on the simulation technology that powers autonomous driving systems.
What you'll do#
- Experiment with new simulation technology by analyzing performance and identifying gaps.
- Create documentation and proposals for stakeholders based on your findings.
- Develop simulator functionality using a clean and simple API.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, and SQL.
- Experience in evaluation and API design.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Practical experience with autonomous simulation platforms is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale distributed computing systems, data processing pipelines, or high-performance rendering engines is preferred.
- Ability to navigate technical ambiguity, form scientific hypotheses, and drive research projects to measurable impact is preferred.

- Compensation: Masters interns receive $70 per hour. PhD interns receive $85 per hour.
