About the role#
Waymo is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the Pipeline team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, hybrid position based in Mountain View, California. You will work on projects that contribute to the development of autonomous driving technology.
What you'll do#
- Develop core simulator functionality to evaluate internal models for safety.
- Design and build metrics and evaluation infrastructure for simulated data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience developing models and working with model evaluation metrics.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Experience writing backend software for robotics is a plus.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $70 per hour for Master's students and $85 per hour for PhD students.
