About the role#
As a Manufacturing Quality Intern, you will join the Manufacturing Engineering team at Watts Water Technologies. This summer internship is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Myers, Florida. You will work directly with engineers to support factory transformation, optimize product lines, and improve production floor layouts. This role provides hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team on factory transformation initiatives.
- Support the optimization of the MCX and MCX2 product lines through data analysis, process mapping, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Assist in redesigning the production floor layout to improve safety, ergonomics, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Provide ongoing support for cross-functional engineering projects, including testing, documentation, and implementation.
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and brainstorming sessions.
- Deliver a final presentation to the leadership team summarizing your contributions and project outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Junior level or above).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on approach to learning.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Lean Six Sigma tools is preferred.
