About the role#
Watts Water Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. This full-time, paid position is based on-site in St Pauls, North Carolina. You will join our operations team to improve shop floor processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and work with cross-functional teams to support our production goals.
What you'll do#
- Identify and implement shop floor process improvements to increase efficiency and production output.
- Create and maintain work instructions, including specifications, engineering changes, process control, and tooling requirements.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to support continuous process improvement.
- Scope, plan, and execute internal manufacturing engineering requests.
- Analyze and document current manufacturing processes.
- Interact with the hourly workforce, quality, safety, and sourcing teams to resolve technical issues.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore or junior status pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and quality standards like Six Sigma is a plus.
- Ability to present complex data using charts, tables, graphs, and pivot tables.
- Strong professional communication skills for working with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
