    About the role#

    This is a paid summer internship for students interested in utility operations and infrastructure development. You will support the engineering team by helping with technical analyses, project tasks, and reviews. This role is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and requires on-site attendance.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform engineering calculations and studies using established utility practices.
    • Review engineering deliverables such as design prints, study reports, equipment specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
    • Check calculations and design packages completed by internal and external staff.
    • Assist project teams with procurement and construction management for substation and transmission line projects.
    • Coordinate with Member Cooperatives regarding engineering services and distribution matters.
    • Work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET accredited college or university program.
    • Completion of at least two years toward a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Coursework in Power Systems is preferred.
    • Note that transcripts may be requested to verify your academic standing.

    • Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • This is a full-time, paid position.
    • Housing and housing stipends are not provided.
