    About the role#

    This internship offers hands on experience within the Strategic Electrification and Member Relations team during Summer 2027. You will work with industry professionals to support programs that improve energy efficiency, reduce peak demand, and strengthen grid reliability. This role provides exposure to utility operations, energy markets, and distributed energy resources while working across engineering, operations, and member relations departments.

    What you'll do#

    • Collect, clean, and analyze energy, program, and customer data.
    • Track participation and evaluate results for energy efficiency and rebate programs.
    • Assist with demand response initiatives, including enrollment tracking and peak demand reduction analysis.
    • Create dashboards, charts, reports, and presentations to communicate program performance.
    • Support the development of key performance indicators and strategic reports.
    • Research emerging technologies like battery storage, load flexibility, and electrification.
    • Help coordinate trainings, educational events, and member outreach materials.
    • Participate in meetings with member cooperative representatives to support engagement initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Experience with Power BI is a plus.
    • Interest in utility operations, renewable energy, or distributed energy resources.

    • This is a paid, full time internship located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
    • Work is performed on-site.
    • No housing or housing stipend is provided.
