About the role#
Citizens Energy Group is hiring an Energy Distribution Engineering Intern to support our Energy Engineering Design or Energy Construction Engineering teams. You will work with project engineers, coordinators, and managers to provide data analysis, technical support, and risk assessment reviews. This is a paid, full-time internship that offers hands-on experience through project work, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply departmental design guides, engineering codes, and company policies.
- Comply with the Citizens Quality Program and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
- Create documents such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data for engineering projects.
- Support internal project teams while learning about external client needs.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program focused on engineering, data analysis, business management, construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project managers and staff engineers.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Office Suite, and ARC GIS is preferred.

- This position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring the ability to work both remotely and on-site at our local office.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with rolling availability.
