About the role#
Stantec is hiring a Civil Engineer Intern for our Infrastructure team in Naples, Florida. This role involves working on land development and community projects. You will interact with clients, government agencies, and our internal team to support the design and delivery of site, grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team in developing design documentation, plans, and reports.
- Prepare and revise documentation for land development permitting through local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
- Perform quality reviews for construction plans, agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
- Assist in preparing calculations for stormwater, potable water, sanitary sewer, and roadway design.
- Attend project coordination meetings and maintain notes to track deliverables.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistent design intent and project schedules.
- Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information, and prepare site observation reports.
- Assist in the evaluation of civil systems and materials, including participation in value engineering and cost estimating.
- Use company standard and proprietary software to analyze and design civil system components.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- An Engineer Intern (EIT) license is required.
- Two or more years of relevant design experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and StormWise (ICPR4).
- Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts from diagrams or drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and engage in critical thought.
