About the role#
The Business Office Student Staff serves as the primary point of contact for patrons at the Half Acre Gym. This customer service role involves managing facility access, handling sales, and assisting visitors with inquiries. The position requires a commitment of at least two full semesters, starting in August 2026, with an expectation to work 2-3 weekend shifts per month.
What you'll do#
- Greet and welcome all visitors entering Half Acre Gym.
- Process daily sales transactions using cash, check, and credit cards.
- Oversee facility access to ensure only authorized individuals enter the gym.
- Manage front desk phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate departments.
- Track and manage lost-and-found items.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the front desk station.
- Complete additional projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
- Eligibility for a work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable term.
- Preferred experience in customer service and point of sale systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Location: Laramie, Wyoming (on-site at Campus Recreation facilities).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Compensation: $14 per hour.
- Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Communications, or Psychology.
