About the role#
The Event Management Intern will gain experience in the operations of all 17 Wyoming athletic sports. This role provides exposure to facility maintenance, event production, and professional networking within the athletic department. Interns will develop skills in multitasking, decision-making, and managing tasks in high-pressure environments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of playing surfaces, press areas, and spectator sections.
- Serve as a liaison to visiting teams, officials, and event guests.
- Support Landmark event staff with credential checks and crowd control.
- Work a variety of events, including football state high school championships, athletic camps, concerts, and private rentals.
- Learn the daily, weekly, and monthly operational requirements for athletic facilities.
What you'll need#
- Must be a full-time student currently enrolled at the University of Wyoming.
- Ability to work most athletic events, including all football games.
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record compliant with university driving policies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Capability to work as an effective team member.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, walking on stairs and ramps, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfort working in various weather conditions during outdoor events.
