Event Management Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience in the event management of 17 athletic sports at the University of Wyoming. Interns will gain insight into the daily, weekly, and monthly operations of athletic facilities, develop professional networks, and build skills in multitasking and decision-making within a collegiate athletic environment.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of playing surfaces, press areas, and spectator sections.
• Serve as a liaison for visiting teams, officials, and other event guests.
• Support event staff with credential checks and crowd control.
• Staff a variety of events, including Football State High School Championships, athletic camps, concerts, and private rentals.
• Maintain athletic facilities and support event production.

What you'll need#

• Must be a full-time student currently enrolled at the University of Wyoming.
• Must be available to work most athletic events and all football games.
• Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record compliant with university business standards.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and follow directions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, walking up stairs and ramps, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions during outdoor events.
