About the role#
This is a part-time work study position within the School of Hospitality at Lackawanna College. You will support college staff and peers to ensure the office runs smoothly. This role requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, with shifts scheduled between 8 am and 11 pm.
What you'll do#
- Handle administrative tasks including filing, organization, typing, and taking notes.
- Manage front desk operations by answering phones, taking messages, and greeting guests.
- Assist with event preparations and mailings.
- Support front-of-house operations by setting up and breaking down dining areas.
- Serve food and drinks to guests and assist with seating.
- Work on specific projects and daily initiatives as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Lackawanna College.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- A guest-centered attitude and the ability to show empathy.
- Capability to work independently and manage your own tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize office records.
