About the role#
The Career Resource Assistant acts as the first point of contact for the UVA Career Center. You will work in Bryant Hall to ensure a welcoming environment for students and visitors. This position is a fit for students who want to build communication and customer service skills while learning how a career services office operates.
What you'll do#
- Greet students and visitors as they arrive.
- Manage the check-in process and help students navigate office resources.
- Answer general questions regarding services, office hours, and scheduling.
- Assist with in-person appointment scheduling.
- Maintain an orderly and professional front-desk area.
- Support the daily flow of appointments and office operations.
- Help with the logistics of Career Center meetings and events, including occasional tasks at locations outside of Bryant Hall.
- Support full-time staff with basic administrative duties.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current undergraduate student at UVA.
- Federal Work Study eligibility is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Dependability is essential.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Bryant Hall, Charlottesville, VA.
- Work hours are typically 10 hours per week during weekday shifts between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- This is a paid, part-time role.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
