About the role#
The Communications Division is looking for two student assistants to help with special projects and analytical work. You will support various units by managing administrative tasks and assisting with governmental problem-solving. This is a part-time, temporary position that requires you to live and work in California.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support to all branches and units within the Communications Division.
- Assist hiring managers with scheduling interviews and coordinating recruitment activities.
- Coordinate external job postings and publish them on recruitment sites.
- Process and maintain official Resolutions.
- Update organizational charts and manage SharePoint content.
- Track Probation Reports and Performance Appraisal Summaries while sending reminder emails.
What you'll need#
- You must be a college student enrolled in at least six semester units (undergraduate) or four semester units (graduate) during the regular term.
- Your declared major must be Business Administration, Communication Studies, Economics, or Public Policy.
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills are required.
- You should be able to identify and resolve complex problems using logical and creative thinking.
- Experience coordinating the work of others and developing alternatives is necessary.
- You must demonstrate independence, flexibility, and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, SharePoint, and Visio, is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Sacramento, California, and operates in a hybrid work environment.
- Work hours are flexible between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Students generally work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
