About the role#
The Long-Term Ticket Operations and Accreditation Intern supports ticket, credential, and admission operations for USGA Championships. You will lead customer service efforts, produce credentials, assist with group sales, and manage reporting. This role involves learning ticketing strategies and providing service to enhance the guest experience. Expect to travel to various championships for extended periods, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open, where you will manage admissions gates and hospitality venues.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the point of contact for mobile ticket resolution for fans, staff, players, and vendors.
- Master the SeatGeek ticketing platform and the Unify platform to investigate purchases and assist with account questions.
- Use the Freshworks platform to manage chatbot information and respond to ticket inquiries via email, phone, and chat.
- Create public resources such as tutorials, guides, and FAQs.
- Produce records and reports on ticket utilization, scanning data, and customer service volume.
- Participate in group sales efforts with bulk ticket buyers.
- Learn the Accredit Solutions platform to assign access codes and produce credentials.
- Manage ticket sales through the Virtual Box Office and distribute credentials at Will Call while on-site.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations departments to provide fan feedback.
- Manage gate operations, uphold policies, and coordinate with security and volunteers.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with live events, ticketing, customer service, or operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting.
- Strong customer service skills with clear and professional phone manners.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and relay information in a detailed manner.
- Capability to work independently and in a team setting for long periods.
- Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Situational management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Golf knowledge is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid internship running from January 12, 2027, through July 15, 2027.
- The role is based in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, on a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office per week.
- Extensive travel is required during championship weeks in May and June, totaling approximately 30 days.
- When on-site for championships, you will work extended hours, including nights and weekends, often exceeding 70 hours per week.
- Housing is not provided for the New Jersey office location, but all travel expenses are covered during championship business.
