About the role#
The Student Union Event Operations Assistant serves as the main point of contact between clients and the event manager. You will oversee events to ensure they follow ASUCLA and University policies. This role requires you to handle issues as they arise and coordinate with other staff to keep operations running smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Act as the primary contact for clients and address their inquiries professionally.
- Monitor venues during events to ensure safety and policy compliance.
- Identify and resolve conflicts, reporting major problems to the event manager.
- Assist with physical setup and breakdown of spaces, including furniture and decorations.
- Restore venues to their original state after events conclude.
- Work with other student assistants to support event operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
- Work during key events including Bruin Day, Bruin Family Day, and Commencement Week.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled UCLA student.
- Maintain good academic and student conduct standing.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities at once.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Initiative to solve problems and anticipate obstacles.
