About the role#
Safe Harbor is looking for a Prevention Intern to help implement community-based programming. You will work with the prevention coordinator to deliver education that helps prevent domestic abuse. This role involves significant time in the community, including schools and local groups, to build partnerships and share resources. This is an unpaid, part-time position designed to fulfill practicum requirements.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate REP-1 presentations for schools and community groups.
- Build collaborative partnerships with local organizations, schools, and faith communities.
- Represent the organization at outreach and tabling events.
- Research, edit, and update content for prevention curricula.
- Manage data documentation following school-based sessions.
- Work with the Education team to develop and carry out prevention plans.
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings, and training sessions.
- Model the vision and mission of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate student status, preferably a junior or senior.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to relate to others with empathy and without judgment.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation for travel.
- Availability for flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Public speaking experience is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
