About the role#
Safe Harbor is looking for a Prevention Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This role works with the prevention coordinator to implement community-based programming aimed at preventing domestic abuse. You will help reach communities through the Relationship Education Project and other outreach efforts. This is an unpaid, part-time, on-site position based in Greenville, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate REP-1 presentations for schools and community groups.
- Build collaborative partnerships with local organizations, schools, and businesses.
- Represent the organization at outreach and tabling events.
- Research, edit, and update content for the prevention curriculum.
- Manage data documentation following school curriculum sessions.
- Work with the Education team to develop and implement prevention plans.
- Attend staff meetings, team training, and continuing education sessions.
- Support the mission and vision of Safe Harbor in your daily work.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student, preferably a junior or senior.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive approach to others.
- Valid SC Driver’s License and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
- Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.
- Public speaking experience is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
