About the role#
The Education Intern works with the Education Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and evaluate domestic abuse education content. You will help with community engagement, data entry, and document submission. This role supports the creation of training materials for staff, clients, and community members. You will also help build partnerships with local groups like healthcare providers, law enforcement, and faith communities.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain partnerships with community groups.
- Represent the organization at speaking requests and outreach events.
- Edit curriculum and content to ensure it is culturally relevant and trauma-informed.
- Submit required VSP documents with the education coordinator.
- Provide technical support and track statistics for online education courses.
- Help the team develop and carry out an education and prevention plan.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education events.
- Model the mission and vision of Safe Harbor.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student, preferably a junior or senior.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to relate to others with empathy and support.
- Initiative, integrity, and dedication to the work.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation for work travel.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Public speaking experience is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
