About the role#
This is a paid internship opportunity for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with the R Street Institute events team, which is part of their broader communications department. This role offers the chance to work across policy and government affairs teams while gaining experience in event logistics and program marketing.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and execution of both in-person and virtual events.
- Manage event logistics in Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area.
- Coordinate with staff, contractors, and event participants to ensure professional delivery.
- Assist with data management systems for the event team.
- Prepare and review event communications, including newsletters and follow-up materials.
- Collaborate with staff to promote policy research and programs to various stakeholders.
- Pitch ideas for cost-effective swag items.
- Participate in team meetings to identify improvements for event planning.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate, graduate, or law student status, or recent graduate.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Geographical location within the United States.
- Availability every Thursday from 1-4:00 PM ET for virtual professional development training.
- Availability for the in-person summit at Stand Together headquarters in Arlington, VA on June 3-4.
