About the role#
Tyson Foods is hiring a Research and Development Intern for a year-round position. You will work on-site in Springdale, Arkansas, supporting food scientists and technicians. This role offers hands-on experience in food and beverage manufacturing, with the goal of preparing interns for potential full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support food scientists and technicians with daily tasks.
- Complete a high volume of research and development projects.
- Follow verbal and written instructions to execute assigned work.
- Perform data collection and entry, product evaluations, and handle product samples.
- Assist with pilot plant and production trials.
- Coordinate with cross-functional leaders to complete projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior, or pursuit of a master’s or Doctorate degree.
- Majors in Agriculture, Business Administration, Nutrition, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Human Resources are eligible, with a preference for Food Science and Animal Science.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel, with familiarity in Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and work as a motivated self-starter.
- Must be in good standing with your academic institution.
- Your resume must include your expected graduation date and area of study.
Location & details#
- Location: Springdale, Arkansas. Candidates must be within a 60-mile commutable distance.
- Schedule: You must be able to work 40 hours per week during the summer and up to 25 hours per week during the school year.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
