About the role#
As a Security Research Engineer Intern, you will work on software development for advanced tactical radio equipment. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software. This role involves working across the full software development life cycle, from requirements analysis and design to integration and testing.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science and engineering principles to software development for target applications.
- Participate in all phases of the software and firmware development life cycle.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and related documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair defects.
- Work with various software languages including C++, C#, and Python on platforms such as Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or Mathematics.
Location & details#
- Location: Herndon, Virginia.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, where employees work 80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off.
