About the role#
The IDB Lab is seeking an undergraduate student for a paid internship during the Winter 2027 term. This program provides an opportunity to learn about development work and corporate management while gaining professional experience. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, D.C.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of strategic documents, presentations, briefing materials, and talking points to communicate IDB Lab priorities.
- Conduct research and analysis on private sector trends and country priorities to support strategic planning.
- Analyze portfolio and pipeline data to identify key trends and strategic insights.
- Maintain country profiles and strategic materials to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Must be an active undergraduate student in Business, International Relations, Economics, Communications, or a related field. You must have completed your second year of studies and have a graduation date after the internship period.
- Fluency in English is required, along with a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Must be a national of an IDB member country.
- You must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- This must be your first internship with the IDB Group.

- Term: January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
