About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an intern for the 2027 Winter Internship Program. This is a paid, full-time consultant position based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience through on-the-job learning while contributing to our knowledge agenda regarding public interventions in the agricultural sector.
What you'll do#
- Conduct literature reviews on public interventions in agriculture and relevant econometric methodologies.
- Identify, clean, and construct databases for empirical analysis.
- Perform quantitative analyses using rigorous econometric methods.
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations on your analytical work.
- Write reports, including Technical Notes and academic papers, for peer-reviewed journals.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student (master's or Ph.D.) in Economics, Agriculture, Statistics, Data Science, Political Science, Public Health, or Environmental Engineering at an accredited university.
- You must have completed at least 50% of your coursework and have a graduation date after the internship concludes.
- You are a national of an IDB member country.
- You have advanced skills in STATA and experience with empirical data analysis, including experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
- You have solid training in Econometrics and Applied Micro-Econometrics.
- You are fluent in English and have knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
- You must not have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- This must be your first internship with the Bank or IDB Invest.

- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: Full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
- Sponsorship: Not provided. International students must secure their own work authorization (CPT or OPT) and confirm their eligibility to work 40 hours per week.
