About the role#
TRUMPF is hiring a Manufacturing Intern for our Farmington, Connecticut location. This role offers practical experience in a production environment to supplement your university studies. You will work on-site for a full-time schedule from January 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support projects within the SYNCHRO department.
- Perform current state analysis to establish baselines and apply systematic problem-solving.
- Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Manage projects to help TUS and SYNCHRO meet their operational goals.
- Participate in 5S workshops, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and line balancing activities.
- Engage in general project management tasks to improve production efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Practical experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically with advanced Excel skills and Visual Basic programming.
- Experience with 3D-modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical skills, thoroughness, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Capacity to work well within a team and independently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: Farmington, CT.
- Term: January 2027 to August 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site, minimum of 32 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18-$26 per hour.
