About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking an Assembly Intern for our Farmington, Connecticut location. This role offers practical experience that complements your university studies. You will work on-site for a duration spanning from January 2027 through August 2027, with a minimum requirement of 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Write and document standards for machine assembly.
- Create work instructions and link them to production steps within the SAP system.
- Conduct time studies to analyze production processes.
- Manage small projects focused on improving quality and productivity.
- Design new production layouts.
- Define workstation configurations based on ergonomic standards.
- Assist with smaller fixture design projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university studying Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Operations Management.
- A strong operations or experimental background.
- Analytical skills and a high level of thoroughness.
- Good English communication skills.
- Familiarity with software such as MS Office, Visio, SolidWorks, or SAP is helpful. Knowledge of the Toyota Production System or Six Sigma methods is also a plus.
