About the role#
TRUMPF is seeking an Internal Logistics Intern to support warehouse optimization, inventory accuracy, and material flow at our Farmington, CT facility. You will work directly with the Internal Logistics team to analyze processes, develop reporting tools, and identify opportunities to reduce waste. This role provides hands-on experience with SAP, Power BI, and Lean manufacturing principles.
What you'll do#
- Analyze logistics processes to identify improvements in material flow, productivity, and inventory accuracy.
- Use SAP to review inventory transactions, stock levels, and logistics data.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to track KPIs like material availability and process performance.
- Support cycle counting initiatives and conduct root-cause analysis for inventory discrepancies.
- Participate in Lean projects including 5S, waste reduction, process mapping, and workflow optimization.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with SAP or another ERP system.
- Experience or coursework in Power BI, Excel, or data analytics.
- Comfort working in both an office and a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship located in Farmington, Connecticut.
- The term runs from January 2027 through August 2027.
