About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Chicago. You will join the Robotics & Operations team to support projects involving material flow, robotic system integration, and shopfloor efficiency. This role involves hands-on work with machinery and collaboration with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Test and improve material flow throughout the factory.
- Analyze and close gaps in the touchless manufacturing process for small and large parts.
- Assist with the design and concept evaluation of robotic systems for integration with TRUMPF machines.
- Collaborate on projects involving logistics, AGVs, robotics, and bending.
- Support daily production operations, including monitoring and maintaining shopfloor machinery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on production quality and efficiency.
- Create marketing and sales materials to educate others on Robotic Process Automation in sheetmetal fabrication.
- Assist the team with customer project tasks and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Informatics.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and the fabrication industry.
- Proficiency in the Office 365 suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience with robotics or fabrication projects is a plus.

- Compensation: $18 to $26 per hour.
