About the role#
This internship focuses on improving how customers experience the transition from order entry through installation, training, and support. You will work across multiple internal functions, including Project Management, Installation Coordination, System Support Engineering, and Field Service. This role is designed for someone interested in operations, process improvement, and manufacturing technology. You will work independently on defined projects while collaborating with subject matter experts across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Create a customer-facing road map that outlines the TRUMPF fulfillment and installation experience from order to production.
- Build standardized preinstallation reference tools for Installation Coordinators to replace the need for gathering information from multiple systems.
- Work with the System Support Engineering team to define performance metrics for the new phone-support model, including identifying data sources and creating reporting structures.
- Analyze how information flows between departments like Sales, Order Processing, and Field Service to identify bottlenecks and improve handoff clarity.
- Develop a structured system to capture lessons learned from customer projects and convert that knowledge into organizational standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, Data Analytics, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to organize complex technical information into clear, usable visual formats.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with clear written and verbal communication.
- A willingness to work independently and challenge existing processes.
Location & details#
- Location: Farmington, CT.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time hours, at least 24 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
