About the role#
TRUMPF is hiring an Assembly Intern for our Farmington, Connecticut location. This role offers practical experience in machine assembly and process management. You will work on-site for at least 32 hours per week between January 2027 and August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Analyze current processes and implement improvements.
- Define assembly standards by creating work instructions and performing time studies.
- Maintain and improve the 5S process within the department.
- Review and execute new layout plans to streamline supply chains.
- Use SAP to link work instructions to production steps.
- Assist the supervisory team in meeting quality and productivity goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A strong background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Visio, SolidWorks, and SAP is helpful.
- Theoretical or experimental knowledge of Six Sigma methods or the Toyota Production System is a plus.
