About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will work on-site in Farmington, Connecticut, from January 2027 through August 2027. You will support the development of machine tools and components by working alongside Mechanical Design Engineers.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with design engineers on new product concepts.
- Create technical documentation, including drawings and bills of materials, for assigned parts.
- Design units and parts that meet cost targets and specifications while ensuring they are ready for series production.
- Optimize designs based on results from assembly and testing.
- Provide support to the production and assembly teams regarding mechanical design issues.
- Implement design changes to improve the functionality and reliability of products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university or institution as an undergraduate student in a related field.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
