About the role#
This internship provides high school students with part-time, on-the-job experience within the Service Department at TRULAND Equipment. You will support the efficient operation of the shop while developing technical skills related to the repair and maintenance of agricultural and outdoor power equipment.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Service Manager and technicians with daily department operations.
- Help service technicians with repairing, servicing, and moving equipment.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Develop skills in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of machine components.
- Document diagnostics and repairs on work orders while accounting for billable time.
- Maintain professional working relationships with peers and management through teamwork and customer service.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a local high school.
- A minimum GPA as required by your specific school.
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
- An interest in learning the methods, materials, and tools used in equipment repair.
- Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air-conditioning, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs and working in environments with engine or grinding noise.
