About the role#
The John Deere Tech Student position is a two-year associate degree program that combines classroom learning with on-the-job training. You will work at our dealership while completing your education at a participating college. This role prepares you for a career as a service mechanic technician. Upon graduation, you will be certified in core John Deere service areas.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
- Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks and learn key technical skills.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
- Document diagnostics and repairs on work orders thoroughly and accurately.
- Develop an understanding of service department operations and labor efficiency.
- Perform equipment set-up, disassembly, and reconditioning as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or firm plans to enroll in a certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
- Completion of a two-year associate degree in the John Deere Tech program.
- Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to assist service technicians with basic service tasks.
- Knowledge of service department operations.
