About the role#
The John Deere Tech Student program is a two-year associate degree path designed to prepare you for a career as a service technician. You will balance instructor-led classroom and lab training with hands-on experience at the dealership. This position is intended for individuals planning to attend a certified John Deere Ag Tech program at a participating college.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of required classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech school.
- Fulfill the minimum hours required for onsite work at the dealership.
- Assist service technicians with basic service tasks and learn essential mechanical skills.
- Develop skills in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of equipment components.
- Document all diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders thoroughly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety regulations.
- Develop an understanding of labor efficiencies and dealership service operations.
- Stay current on knowledge regarding John Deere and competitive products.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
