About the role#
This is a two-year internship program designed to prepare students for a career as a service technician at a John Deere dealership. You will balance classroom and lab training at a certified John Deere Ag Tech school with on-the-job training at the dealership. The goal is to develop technical proficiency in John Deere products and systems while working toward an associate degree.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
- Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks and learn under their guidance.
- Develop skills in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of equipment components.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR systems.
- Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly and accurately on work orders.
- Learn about service department operations, labor efficiencies, and dealer business systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or firm plans to enroll in a Certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
- Willingness to learn and perform tasks under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Foundational knowledge in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR systems.
- Understanding of service department operations and labor efficiencies.
