About the role#
The John Deere Tech Student position is a two-year associate degree program designed to prepare you for a career as a service technician. You will combine instructor-led classroom and lab training at a certified college with on-the-job training at the dealership. This role focuses on building technical skills in John Deere systems while preparing you for full-time employment upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
- Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks, including the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
- Complete all required John Deere University credits.
- Develop an understanding of service department operations, dealer business systems, and labor efficiency goals.
- Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspection of new equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation for diagnostics and repairs on work orders.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment while following all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Intent to enroll in or current attendance at a certified John Deere Ag Tech program at a participating college.
- Ability to complete a two-year associate degree.
- Understanding of service department operations and dealer business systems.
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting customer needs.
