About the role#

The John Deere Tech Student program is a two-year associate degree path designed to prepare students for a career as a service technician at TRULAND Equipment. This role combines instructor-led classroom and lab training at an accredited John Deere Tech School with on-the-job experience at the dealership.

What you'll do#

• Complete two years of classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
• Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks, including the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
• Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspections of new equipment.
• Manage billable time and maintain accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders.
• Develop an understanding of labor efficiencies and work to meet established goals.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment while adhering to safety regulations.
• Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs and complete required John Deere University credits.

What you'll need#

• Planning to attend a Certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
• Completion of the minimum hours required of working onsite at the dealership.
• Ability to obtain certification in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
