John Deere Tech Student

About the role#

The John Deere Tech Student program is a two-year associate degree path designed to prepare students for a career as a service technician. Participants split their time between an accredited John Deere TECH program at a participating college and on-the-job training at the dealership. This role focuses on building technical expertise in John Deere products and systems, with the goal of achieving certification in three core service areas upon graduation.

What you'll do#

• Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
• Assist senior technicians with service tasks to gain hands-on experience.
• Develop skills in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of equipment components.
• Perform basic service tasks, pre-delivery inspections, and set-ups as assigned.
• Obtain required certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR™ training.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders.
• Operate and maintain dealership tools and equipment while following all safety regulations.
• Keep a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment or planned attendance in a Certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at an accredited college.
• Ability to complete a two-year associate degree program.
• Commitment to obtaining certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR™.
• Ability to work the required minimum number of hours onsite at the dealership.
• A hardworking attitude and a willingness to learn technical concepts.
• Pursuing a background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
