About the role#
The John Deere Tech Student program is a two-year associate degree path designed to prepare you for a career as a service technician. This role involves a combination of instructor-led classroom training at an accredited college and hands-on experience at the dealership. Students work toward certification in core John Deere service areas while gaining practical skills in equipment maintenance and repair.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
- Assist senior technicians with daily service tasks and learn fundamental technical concepts.
- Perform basic service tasks, including the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
- Obtain certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
- Document diagnostics and repairs on work orders and manage billable time.
- Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspections of new equipment.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Plan to attend a certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
- Ability to complete a two-year associate degree through an accredited program.
- Commitment to obtaining required certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR training.
- Ability to work the required minimum number of hours onsite at the dealership.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
