About the role#

The John Deere Tech Student position is a two-year associate degree program designed to prepare students for a career as a service technician. This role combines on-the-job training at the dealership with instructor-led classroom and lab training at a certified John Deere Ag Tech program. Upon graduation, students are prepared to become efficient service mechanics certified in core John Deere systems.

What you'll do#

• Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
• Participate in on-the-job training by assisting senior technicians with basic service tasks.
• Obtain certification in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR™ training.
• Perform pre-delivery set-up and inspection of new equipment.
• Develop skills in the removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components.
• Document diagnostics and repairs accurately on work orders.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety regulations.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment or plans to attend a Certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
• Strong willingness to learn and work effectively in a team-driven environment.
• Previous experience or coursework in mechanical or electrical systems is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic service tasks and learn quickly from senior technicians.
