About the role#
This ASIC Package Engineering internship provides an opportunity to work with engineering teams on advanced packaging technology. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting the design and development of AMD products while working alongside industry experts.
What you'll do#
- Support Package design and Package Development Engineers with project prioritization and optimization.
- Complete substrate, interposer, and bump designs for AMD products, test vehicles, and probe card substrates.
- Manage design verification projects to ensure performance, quality, and efficiency.
- Analyze yield and defect metrics to improve design performance.
- Evaluate and benchmark packaging materials in collaboration with partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Masters degree program at a US-based university.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with semiconductor theory and packaging process technology.
- Experience with package, silicon, or PCB design software.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or SQL.

- Locations: Austin, TX; Boxborough, MA; Fishkill, NY; Fort Collins, CO; Longmont, CO; or Secaucus, NJ.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Modality: On-site or hybrid.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
