About the role#
The ASIC Package Engineering intern or co-op position offers the opportunity to work with engineering teams on advanced packaging technology. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting design projects and contributing to the development of hardware that impacts end-users. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Support Package design and Package Development Engineers with project prioritization and optimization.
- Complete substrate, interposer, and bump designs for AMD products, test vehicles, and probe card substrates.
- Work on design verification implementation to maintain performance, quality, and efficiency.
- Analyze yield and defect metrics to improve design performance.
- Benchmark packaging materials and coordinate with partners to achieve cost-efficient designs that meet performance requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US-based university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of transmission lines and electric circuits.
- Experience with package, silicon, or PCB design software.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or SQL.
- Familiarity with semiconductor theory and packaging processes is a plus.
