John Deere Tech Student

About the role#

The John Deere Tech Student position is a two-year educational and professional development program designed to prepare students for a career as a service technician. Participants balance instructor-led classroom training with hands-on, on-site work at the dealership to gain experience with John Deere products and systems. This is a full-time, paid internship role.

What you'll do#

• Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training at a John Deere Tech School.
• Fulfill the minimum hours required for on-site work at the dealership.
• Assist senior technicians with basic service tasks and learn to perform equipment maintenance.
• Work toward certification in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service ADVISOR™ systems.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment.
• Document diagnostics and repairs, manage work orders, and maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all safety regulations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or firm plans to enroll in a Certified John Deere Ag Tech Program at a participating college.
• Completion of a two-year associate's degree is a prerequisite for employment.
• Strong work ethic and a desire to learn technical skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-driven environment.
• Interest in pursuing a career as a service mechanic upon graduation.
