About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, you will work directly with our pharmacy team. This role is designed to help you gain experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical care. You will perform professional pharmacy functions while working under the supervision and mentorship of registered pharmacists. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform pharmacy tasks under the guidance of licensed pharmacists and in accordance with Idaho state regulations.
- Prepare and dispense medication orders based on physician requests.
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care within your scope of practice.
- Ensure the accuracy of documentation for services and supplies provided to patients.
- Help pharmacists maintain safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies.
- Communicate with medical staff and other health professionals.
- Contribute to the daily operations and quality of the pharmacy department.
- Demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of the organization in your daily work.
What you'll need#
- Current registration as an Extern or Intern with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to work well within a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Nampa, Idaho.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: You will work one 10-hour weekend shift per week, one 10-hour weekend shift every two weeks, or two 10-hour weekend shifts every two weeks. There are opportunities to increase these hours during summer months and academic breaks.
