About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You will assist in delivering patient care, managing pharmacy workflows, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This role focuses on providing authentic care to patients while growing your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Manage patient care programs and support patient safety initiatives.
- Handle inventory and workflow tasks, excluding final prescription verification.
- Provide customer service and assist with quality assurance.
- Lead with empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and team members.
- Collaborate with the team to improve health outcomes and maintain a positive culture.
- Administer patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain upright for long periods, reach overhead, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
