About the role#
The Immunology Pediatric Clinical Development Internship is a full-time, immersive program within the Immunology Therapeutic Area Research and Development team. You will contribute to meaningful projects, engage with cross-functional leaders, and gain practical experience in the drug development process. This role is designed to foster professional growth for students interested in pediatric medicine, gastroenterology, immunology, and pharmaceutical research.
What you'll do#
- Support strategic pediatric drug development projects for innovative therapies, including evaluating clinical and scientific evidence.
- Assist with the review and interpretation of clinical, scientific, and safety data from pediatric clinical trials.
- Support the preparation of regulatory, clinical, and scientific deliverables such as study materials, presentations, abstracts, and publications.
- Collaborate with partners across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Biostatistics, and Safety.
- Complete a primary research project and present findings to the Pediatric Development Team and the Immunology Therapeutic Area.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an advanced degree in clinical, health, or life sciences. Preferred programs include PharmD, MD, DO, PA, NP, MPH, or MS.
- Undergraduate students with at least four semesters completed or graduate students are eligible.
- Must not be graduating before, during, or after the internship period.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Prior experience in clinical, biomedical, or relevant academic research.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical research principles, with experience interpreting scientific literature.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for future employment visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Locations: Spring House, Pennsylvania or San Diego, California.
- Modality: Hybrid (requires reporting on-site three days per week).
- Duration: May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, or June 14, 2027, through September 10, 2027.
- Status: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
