About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026. You will work alongside controls technicians and project managers to gain hands-on experience in building automation, HVAC controls, and industry standards. This position is field-based, requiring you to work on-site at customer locations.
What you'll do#
- Document point-to-point verification, sequence of operations validation, and job close-out requirements.
- Serve as a direct customer contact, diagnosing and repairing equipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with team leaders, mentors, and customers to forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site installation and repair work.
- Stay current on Trane products regarding the installation, operation, maintenance, and service of direct digital control systems.
- Maintain security and accountability of company assets by recording use, wear, and condition.
- Enforce safety standards and demonstrate flexibility regarding work hours, including potential overtime and occasional overnight stays.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school or formal training is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and handheld devices such as smartphones and iPads.
- A valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major traffic violations, such as DUIs, reckless driving, or multiple preventable collisions in the last three years.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive role, which may require additional drug screening.
