About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026. You will work on-site in Madison, Wisconsin, alongside controls technicians and project managers. This role focuses on building automation, HVAC controls, and the commissioning of climate solutions.
What you'll do#
- Document point to point verification, sequence of operations validation, and project close-out requirements.
- Act as the direct customer contact, identifying and diagnosing equipment issues at customer sites.
- Coordinate with your team leader and customers to forecast needs, gather materials, and sync on-site work.
- Stay current on Trane products, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of direct digital control systems.
- Maintain the security and accountability of company assets by tracking their use and condition.
- Support the team by maintaining flexibility for overtime and occasional overnight travel as business requires.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical school or formal training is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices like smartphones or iPads.
- A valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with a clean driving record.
- Enrollment in a relevant field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
