Controls Technician - Summer Intern

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026. You will work alongside controls technicians and project managers to learn the fundamentals of building automation, HVAC controls, and industry standards. This is an on-site, field-based position where you will travel to customer locations to support project execution.

What you'll do#

• Document point-to-point verification, validate sequences of operations, and assist with job close-out requirements.
• Serve as a direct customer contact, helping to identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand project requirements, forecast issues, and synchronize on-site work.
• Stay current on company products regarding the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Maintain security and accountability of company assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
• Perform daily tasks including commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, end-to-end testing, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required by business needs, including occasional overnight stays.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical School or formal training is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and handheld devices such as smartphones and iPads.
• A valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with a clean driving record.
• Ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
