About the role#
As a Land Use Planning Intern, you will join our Land Use and Planning Team in either our Westwood or Worcester offices. You will work with industry experts on infrastructure projects throughout the Northeast. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 that offers a hybrid work environment.
What you'll do#
- Create maps, graphics, and visualizations.
- Support the development of planning documents and public outreach efforts.
- Perform research and analysis regarding zoning, permitting, community development, and planning.
- Assist staff with various projects and field assignments.
- Perform drafting tasks and produce concept-level documents in AutoCAD.
- Prepare memos, reports, and other project documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Previous relevant work experience.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve planning and urban design problems.
- Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness.
- Preference is given to candidates with at least 2 years of completed college coursework.
- Preference is given to those with previous internship experience in land use, urban planning, environmental policy, or design.
- Preference is given to those with hands-on experience using 3D modeling or design software such as SketchUp or Revit.

- Locations: Westwood, MA and Worcester, MA.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour, based on years of completed college education.
