About the role#
The Actuarial Development Program Internship is a 10-week summer program designed to provide hands-on experience within the financial services industry. Interns support the financial strength and risk management of our annuity and life insurance product lines while gaining exposure to core actuarial functions.
What you'll do#
- Provide actuarial assistance regarding capital adequacy and financial strength.
- Perform experience studies and develop assumptions for annuity and life insurance lines.
- Conduct asset and liability modeling, including financial projections and stress testing.
- Execute ALM projects such as economic scenario generation, duration analysis, and interest rate stress testing.
- Perform valuations of actuarial reserves and liabilities.
- Conduct asset adequacy testing.
- Support annuity product development and the determination of non-guaranteed elements.
- Provide plan pricing support and assist with risk management functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Preference is given to students pursuing degrees in mathematics, actuarial science, or related fields.
- Preference is given to candidates who have passed at least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated leadership potential, are preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in New York, New York, or Charlotte, North Carolina.
