About the role#
The Quantitative Trading Intern will join the Commodities and Structuring group for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on a trading floor, gaining firsthand experience with commodities, interest rates, foreign exchange, and related assets. The role focuses on commercial hedging and speculative investment strategies, including futures, options, and structured products. You will work directly with the lead strategist to conduct original research and build production-grade models that support trading activities.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with the lead strategist to learn about capital markets.
- Develop original predictive models using PyTorch, neural networks, and large language models.
- Assist with quantitative investment strategies product development.
- Process and analyze large data sets.
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including Managing Directors.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising sophomore or junior studying mathematics, statistics, economics, pure sciences, data science, computer science, engineering, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, VS Code, Anaconda, and Excel.
- Exposure to deep learning methods, neural networks, large language models, and large data sets.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and initiate tasks.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship.
- Experience with AI-centric image recognition or Bloomberg is a plus.
